Us…
Harmony Bath and Body is the
creative extension of Heather and Matt Welsh.
We are a family owned
and operated business that we run from our home in
York,
Pennsylvania.
Our family and our
business overlap in many ways. In
addition to our
three little helpers, most
of our products were developed because someone
near and dear to us has had
a specific need.
About the Scentsitivities Line:
For those of you who
are familiar with sensory issues, our son
has Sensory Processing
Dysfunction or SPD (also known as Sensory Integration
Disorder/Dysfunction
or SID). The Scentsitivities products are also being used
successfully by individuals with
autism, PDD, ADD, ADHD, and many other
disorders that contain even a
mild component of sensory challenges - or,
as in our son's case,
individuals who experience the world in their own way.
The design of the
products in the Scentsitivities line is friendly to
parents,
occupational therapists, physical
therapists & educators. As we learned
about the challenges our son
encounters on a daily basis, we started
to gain a better
understanding of the term spectrum –
as it relates to both
Sensory Processing Dysfunction and Autism.
As an emerging division
of our company, we would love to hear how our
products are being used in your
homes, offices & classrooms.
When I was told that
our son had sensory challenges, I didn't know what to think...
I had never heard of
such a thing. As a compulsive
researcher, I set
out to learn what I could
about SPD and what was available to help him.
What I found was that
quality therapy tools were difficult to find.
We were truly been
blessed with an Occupational Therapist who not only
understood the challenges that
sensory challenges posed, but who also saw
the potential to help our
child and others by combining forces:
her knowledge and
expertise with our product development and resources.
From this, our new line
of products ScentsitivitiesTM has emerged.
